"My biggest passion is to help others by showing them their beauty that already exists. Not through covering anything up with makeup, but through unleashing the beauty inside with the expression of outer beauty. Each person I connect with is unique and beautiful in their own way. I make it my mission to create a safe an inviting space where we can explore your inner and outer beauty together." - Melissa Cutler
Melissa Cutler is a Toronto-based makeup artist and hair stylist serving clients and working on films across the GTA and Southern Ontario. With nearly 4 years experience in the cosmetic industry, she has quickly thrived in several different avenues of the beauty industry.
Formally trained at Canadian Beauty College, Melissa earned Diploma in Makeup Artistry, with Honours. After being accepted into the highly sought after internship program with professional cosmetic brand, MAKE UP FOR EVER, she quickly grew as an artist and became a member of the brand's freelance artist team. It was with MAKE UP FOR EVER that she learned from top industry professionals and acquired advanced skills and techniques that has become innate in her work.
Shortly after, Melissa was invited to join Canadian Beauty College as the Makeup Artist Diploma Instructor in Mississauga. It was there that she discovered her natural gift and passion to educate and nurture other artists.
Possessing a well-rounded set of skills in makeup artistry, Melissa sought out additional opportunities in film, fashion and print work. She is well-versed in makeup for beauty, glamour, and bridal for clients of all skin tones, out-of-kit FX, fashion, and creative story. She has practical experience in makeup for HD film, black and white photography, and makeup for various forms of lighting.
Melissa has since expanded her skill set to include hair styling and eyelash extension application.
In 2015, Melissa transitioned to a new role within the beauty industry and was hired by Bare Escentuals (bareMinerals and Buxom) to be the Account Executive and Sales Trainer for the two brands for 23 Sephora locations across Southern Ontario. This new position incorporated her artistry and education experience through educating Sephora employees on new products, tips and techniques, as well as facilitating Master Classes and Workshops in Sephora. It also challenged and developed her within the business realm of the cosmetics industry.
In August of 2016, Melissa bravely decided to leave her role with Bare Escentuals to focus solely on her flourishing makeup artistry and hairstyling business. She has also returned to an educator role as Makeup Artist Diploma Instructor at International Beauty Institute.
